Two workflows, one feature
Merge and split share the same interface. You pick the mode on the left:
Merge mode
- Drop multiple PDFs into the file list.
- Reorder them by dragging (the output concatenates in list order).
- Click Merge, pick an output path, done.
Split mode
- Drop a single PDF.
- Choose how to split:
- One file per page — produces n output files
- By page range — specify ranges like
1-5, 8, 10-12 - Every N pages — splits into chunks of N pages
- Click Split, pick an output folder.
Merge vs Create PDF
There's overlap: Create PDF can also combine PDFs. The difference:
| Merge | Create PDF | |
|---|---|---|
| Combine PDFs into one | Yes | Yes |
| Reorder individual pages | No (only whole files) | Yes |
| Add blank pages | No | Yes |
| Annotate pages | No | Yes |
| Add images as PDF pages | No (PDFs only) | Yes |
| Best for | Fast whole-file concatenation | Custom, page-level output |
Split tips
- Page ranges use 1-based indexing (
1-5means pages 1 through 5). - You can combine ranges with commas:
1-3, 5, 7-10produces three output files. - If a source PDF is encrypted, run it through Remove Password first.
