The AI photo generation feature uses OpenAI's image generation API. You'll need to provide your own API key in the app settings. The core video editing features work without any API key.

A free tier will allow creating up to 2 videos (max 10 minutes each) with 4 tracks. The Pro version unlocks unlimited videos, up to 2 hours duration, 10 tracks, AI features, and all export options.
