Auto Mouse Click Troubleshooting

This page covers common issues and their solutions. If your problem is not listed here, contact [email protected].

Automation Issues

Automation starts but nothing happens

  1. Check the active window -- Mouse and keyboard actions are sent to the currently active window. Ensure the target application is in the foreground.
  2. Verify coordinates -- If using fixed positions, confirm the X,Y coordinates match the current screen layout. Windows may have been moved or resized.
  3. Check intervals -- If the interval is very long (e.g., 60 minutes), you may need to wait before the first action occurs. Try a shorter interval for testing.
  4. Run as administrator -- Some applications require admin-level input. Right-click Auto Mouse Click and select Run as administrator.

Clicks are missing their targets

  • Screen resolution may have changed since the positions were set. Re-record positions.
  • The target window may have moved or resized. Ensure it is in the expected position.
  • Add a small delay before each click to allow the window to settle.

Keyboard actions not working

  • The correct window must have keyboard focus. Use an App Switch action before keyboard input.
  • Some applications block simulated keyboard input for security reasons (e.g., banking sites, password fields in some apps).
  • Try running Auto Mouse Click as administrator.

Automation runs at the wrong speed

  • Check the interval settings. The interval is the time between each action, not the speed of the action itself.
  • System load can affect timing accuracy. Close resource-heavy applications for more consistent timing.

Hotkey Issues

Hotkey does not work

  1. Conflict -- Another application may be using the same hotkey. Try a different combination.
  2. Admin rights -- If the active application is running as administrator, Auto Mouse Click may need admin rights too.
  3. Stealth Mode -- If in Stealth Mode, only the reveal hotkey works. Press the reveal hotkey first.

Forgot the Stealth Mode reveal hotkey

If you cannot access Auto Mouse Click because you forgot the Stealth Mode reveal hotkey:

  1. Open Windows Task Manager (Ctrl+Shift+Esc)
  2. Find the Auto Mouse Click process
  3. End the process
  4. Relaunch the application -- it should start in normal (non-stealth) mode
  5. Reconfigure the reveal hotkey

Scheduling Issues

Scheduled action did not run

  • Verify Auto Mouse Click is set to Start with Windows and is running in the background
  • Check that the computer was turned on and logged in at the scheduled time
  • Ensure the schedule is Enabled (not disabled)
  • Verify the correct days and times are configured

Schedule runs at the wrong time

  • Check your system clock and time zone settings
  • Daylight saving time changes may affect scheduled times

Installation Issues

Application fails to start

  • Ensure .NET Desktop Runtime 6.0 or later is installed
  • Try running as administrator
  • Reinstall from the Auto Mouse Click page

Antivirus flags the application

Some antivirus programs may flag Auto Mouse Click because it simulates input. This is a false positive. Add the application to your antivirus exclusion list.
