Your First Automation¶
This guide walks you through setting up your first automated action with Auto Mouse Click. We will create a simple mouse movement automation that keeps your cursor active.
Step 1: Open Auto Mouse Click¶
Launch the application from the desktop shortcut, Start Menu, or system tray icon.
Step 2: Choose an Action¶
On the main dashboard, you will see the available action types:
- Mouse Movement
- Left Click
- Right Click
- Double Click
- Keyboard Action
- App Switch
- Browser Tab Change
- Auto Scroll
For this first automation, select Mouse Movement.

Step 3: Configure the Action¶
Set the mouse movement parameters:
- Movement type -- Choose Random (moves the cursor to random screen positions) or Fixed (moves between specific coordinates)
- Interval -- How often the mouse moves (e.g., every 30 seconds)
- Distance -- How far the mouse moves each time (small, medium, or large)
For a basic keep-awake setup, use:
- Movement type: Random
- Interval: 60 seconds
- Distance: Small
Step 4: Start the Automation¶
Click the Start button or press the hotkey (default: F6). The automation begins immediately:
- The mouse cursor moves according to your settings
- The system tray icon shows that automation is active
- A small indicator may appear on screen (can be disabled)
Step 5: Stop the Automation¶
To stop, either:
- Click the Stop button in the app
- Press the hotkey again (
F6) - Right-click the system tray icon and select Stop
Hotkey Control
The hotkey is the fastest way to start and stop automation. You can customize the hotkey in Settings > Hotkey. See Hotkey Control for details.
