Hotkey Control

Hotkeys let you start, stop, and control Auto Mouse Click automation using keyboard shortcuts, without needing to open the application window. This is essential for quickly toggling automation on and off.

Default Hotkeys

Hotkey Action
F6 Start/Stop automation (toggle)
F7 Pause automation
F8 Stop all actions
Ctrl+Shift+Alt+M Reveal app in Stealth Mode

Customizing Hotkeys

  1. Open Auto Mouse Click settings.
  2. Navigate to Settings > Hotkeys.
  3. Click the hotkey field you want to change.
  4. Press your desired key combination.
  5. Click Save.

Hotkey configuration

Hotkey Requirements

  • Use at least one modifier key (Ctrl, Shift, Alt) combined with a regular key
  • Single keys like F6 can also be used but may conflict with other applications
  • Each hotkey must be unique (no duplicates)

Hotkey Conflicts

If a hotkey does not work, another application may be using the same shortcut. Try a different combination. Common conflicts include media keys, screenshot tools, and gaming software.

Available Hotkey Actions

You can assign hotkeys to the following actions:

Action Description
Start/Stop toggle Toggles the entire automation on and off
Pause/Resume Pauses the current action without resetting it
Stop all Immediately stops all running actions
Start specific action Begin a specific action by name
Reveal window Show the Auto Mouse Click window (useful in Stealth Mode)
Emergency stop Stops everything and shows the app window

Using Hotkeys

Quick Toggle

The most common use is the start/stop toggle:

  1. Configure your automation in the app
  2. Minimize or close the window
  3. Press F6 (or your custom hotkey) to start
  4. Press F6 again to stop

Emergency Stop

If an automation is performing unintended actions:

  1. Press the emergency stop hotkey (default: F8)
  2. All automation stops immediately
  3. The app window appears so you can review settings

Practice First

Before running a complex automation unattended, do a quick test run. Start the automation, verify it works as expected, then stop it. Knowing your stop hotkey is critical if something goes wrong.

Global Hotkeys

Auto Mouse Click hotkeys work globally, meaning they function regardless of which application is currently active. You do not need to have the Auto Mouse Click window focused.

Admin Applications

Hotkeys may not work when an application running with administrator privileges has focus and Auto Mouse Click is running without admin rights. Run Auto Mouse Click as administrator if needed.
