Utility Tools¶
Speech Studio includes a set of utility tools that complement the main text-to-speech and speech-to-text features. These tools help with file management, format conversion, and other common tasks in audio and video workflows.
Audio Format Conversion¶
Convert audio files between different formats without re-generating the speech:
- Go to Tools > Audio Converter
- Import one or more audio files
- Select the target format (MP3, WAV, OGG)
- Adjust quality settings if needed
- Click Convert
This is useful when you need audio in a specific format for a particular platform or device.
File Management¶
Speech Studio provides basic file management features to keep your projects organized:
- Rename files -- Quickly rename output files with meaningful names
- Organize by project -- Create folders and group related audio files together
- Batch rename -- Apply naming patterns to multiple files at once
Stay Organized
Use descriptive file names that include the language, voice, and version number. For example: intro_en-US_Jenny_v2.mp3. This makes it much easier to find files later.
Text Tools¶
The utility section also includes text processing tools:
- Character count -- See the exact character and word count of your input text
- Text cleanup -- Remove extra whitespace, fix line breaks, and clean up pasted text
- Text splitting -- Break long texts into smaller chunks for easier processing
Audio Preview¶
The built-in audio player lets you preview any audio file on your system, not just files generated by Speech Studio. Drag and drop any supported audio file to play it.
Settings and Preferences¶
Access global settings from the Tools > Settings menu:
- Default output folder -- Set where generated files are saved
- Default audio format -- Choose your preferred format for new conversions
- Cache management -- View and clear the conversion cache
- Theme -- Switch between light and dark interface themes
Keyboard Shortcuts
Speech Studio supports keyboard shortcuts for common actions. Press Ctrl+Shift+? to view the full list of available shortcuts.
