Quick Start Guide

Get up and running with Kaizen OCR & PDF in under 5 minutes. This guide walks you through your first OCR text extraction.

1. Download & Install

  1. Visit kaizen-apps.com
  2. Click Download Free
  3. Run KaizenOcrInstaller.exe and follow the setup wizard
  4. Launch Kaizen OCR from your desktop shortcut

2. Open Easy OCR

From the dashboard, click the Easy OCR tile. This is the fastest way to extract text from any image or PDF.

3. Add Your File

You have three ways to add a file:

  • Drag & Drop -- Drag your image or PDF directly into the application window
  • Browse -- Click the file browser button to select a file from your computer
  • Screenshot -- Click Take Screenshot to capture your screen directly

4. Select OCR Engine & Start

Choose your OCR engine:

  • Paddle AI OCR -- Recommended for higher accuracy, tables, and structured documents
  • Tesseract OCR -- Faster option for simple, clean text

Click Start OCR to begin extraction.

5. Copy or Export Results

Your extracted text appears in the preview panel. You can:

  • Copy Text to clipboard
  • Export This to save the current result
  • Export All to save all results at once

View Results

That's it!

You've completed your first OCR extraction. The free version includes 7 uses per feature. Upgrade to Pro for unlimited usage.
