Domain Management¶
Domain management is the centralized interface for managing all website blocking rules across Focus. Whether you are blocking sites in Productivity, Employee, or Parental Mode, domain management provides the tools to add, edit, and organize your block and allow lists.
Accessing Domain Management¶
- Open Focus settings with the admin password.
- Navigate to Settings > Domain Management.
Block List¶
The block list contains all websites that are prevented from loading on this computer.
Adding Domains¶
Click Add and enter the domain name:
facebook.com-- Blocks the entire domain including all subdomains*.reddit.com-- Wildcard blocking for all Reddit subdomainsspecific-page.example.com/path-- Block a specific URL path
Bulk Import¶
Import a large list of domains at once:
- Click Import
- Select a text file with one domain per line
- Review the imported list
- Click Add All
This is useful when migrating from another blocking tool or applying a curated block list.

Allow List¶
The allow list overrides the block list. Any domain on the allow list is always accessible, even if it falls under a blocked category or matches a block list entry.
Use the allow list for:
- Educational websites needed for school or work
- Company intranet sites
- Specific tools and services that must remain accessible
Allow List Priority
The allow list always takes priority over the block list and category filters. If a site is on both lists, it will be allowed.
Pre-Built Lists¶
Focus includes curated block lists for common use cases:
| List | Contents |
|---|---|
| Social Media | Major social platforms |
| Video Streaming | Streaming services |
| Gaming | Gaming sites and platforms |
| Adult Content | Age-inappropriate websites |
| News & Entertainment | News and entertainment portals |
| Advertising & Trackers | Ad networks and tracking domains |
Enable any pre-built list with a single click.
Searching and Filtering¶
With large block lists, use the search bar to quickly find a specific domain. Filter by:
- Source (manually added, imported, pre-built list)
- Date added
- Category
Exporting¶
Export your domain lists for backup or sharing:
- Click Export
- Choose Block List, Allow List, or Both
- Save as a text file
