Screenshot Capture¶
Focus can automatically capture screenshots of the employee's screen at regular intervals. This provides visual documentation of computer activity throughout the workday.
Enabling Screenshot Capture¶
- Open Focus settings with the admin password.
- Navigate to Employee > Screenshot Capture.
- Toggle Enable Screenshots to on.
- Configure the capture settings (see below).
- Click Save.
Capture Settings¶

Recommended Settings
For most workplaces, capturing every 5-10 minutes at medium quality provides good coverage without consuming excessive disk space. Capturing only the active window reduces file size and focuses on the relevant content.
Viewing Screenshots¶
Access captured screenshots from the Focus dashboard:
- Go to Employee > Screenshot Gallery
- Select the date and user profile
- Browse screenshots in chronological order
- Click any thumbnail to view the full-size image
Screenshots are displayed in a timeline view, making it easy to review activity for any period.
Storage Management¶
Screenshots can consume significant disk space over time. Manage storage with these options:
- Auto-delete -- Automatically remove screenshots older than a specified number of days (7, 14, 30, or 90 days)
- Compression -- Lower quality settings reduce file sizes
- Storage folder -- Change where screenshots are saved if your primary drive has limited space

Privacy Considerations¶
Sensitive Information
Screenshots may capture sensitive information such as personal emails, banking details, or medical information if the employee accesses these during work hours. Establish clear policies about personal use during monitoring and handle screenshot data with appropriate confidentiality.
Including in Reports¶
Screenshots can be attached to or linked from Email Reports sent to managers. Configure this in the email report settings.
