Easy OCR

Easy OCR lets you quickly extract text from images, PDFs, or screenshots with just a few clicks. Simply drag & drop your files or capture a screenshot, then press Start OCR -- no complex setup needed. It's designed for fast, accurate results with a clean and user-friendly interface.

Which OCR Engine Should I Use?

  • Paddle AI OCR (Recommended): Higher accuracy, especially for tables, layouts, and structured documents. Best for smarter text detection and more reliable results.
  • Tesseract OCR: Fast and lightweight option for standard text recognition. Works great for simple documents and everyday OCR tasks where speed matters.

Step-by-Step Guide

Step 1: Open Easy OCR

From the Kaizen OCR dashboard, click on the Easy OCR tile to open the Easy OCR module.

Step 2: Add Your File

Click the Drag & Drop area or use the file browser button to select your image or PDF. You can also use Take Screenshot (Auto-Add) to capture your screen directly.

Step 3: Select Your File

Choose the image or PDF file you want to process from the file dialog.

Step 4: Start OCR

Select your preferred OCR engine (Paddle AI or Tesseract OCR) and click the Start OCR button to begin text extraction.

Step 5: View and Export Results

The extracted text appears in the Extracted Text Preview panel. You can:

  • Copy Text -- Copy the extracted text to your clipboard
  • Export This -- Export the current result to a file
  • Export All -- Export all processed results at once
